Innocent Olympic 'tweet for a seat' campaign

Innocent, the official smoothie and juice of the London 2012 Games, is giving away tickets to different Olympic events as part of a two-week Twitter campaign called 'Tweet For A Seat'.

The campaign launches on Monday (2 July) and will run for two weeks through the brand's @innocentdrinks Twitter handle.

Followers can win a pair of tickets to a number of Olympic events, which have not yet been named, by telling Innocent who they would like to take to the Olympics and why, including the hashtag #tweetforaseat.

Rich Duff-Tytler, head of digital communications, said: "Twitter is a hugely important way for us to chat to and reward our customers directly, and in the past we have used it as a really popular competition mechanic with our 'Tweet And Eat' campaign. Being the official smoothie and juice of the London 2012 Olympic Games is something we're really proud of, and we're thrilled to be able to help people experience a once-in-a-lifetime event with 'Tweet For A Seat'."

I really wanted to post about the 'tweet and eat' campaign before because I found it to be really amazing. So its time to do it now :)

The campaign, developed by Holler Digital in London, gave consumers a discount depending on the number of people that tweeted its hashtag #tweetandeat.

The discount that consumers got was dependent on the number of tweets received, the minimum was the 50p off their products while the ultimate prize wass that their products were absolutely free with every coupon. The aim was to encourage everyone you know to tweet the hashtag to lower the prices.

While innocent did not actually say how many tweets were required to reach each stage, it was an innovative way of spreading the brand name giving it further exposure and more importantly, giving people who wouldn’t normally purchase their products an excuse to try them out.

The campaign wass split up onto two periods, the first was from September 15th till October 13th while the second was during November 7th - December 5th. Throughout both periods, there were maximum of 80,500 unique coupons available.
